A delicious recipe, great for party snack food!
half a cup of white butter
2 tbsps of honey
4 tablespoons of cocoa powdere
225g of semi-sweet biscuits, perhaps digestives
a handful of raisins
a handful of chopped nuts
First of all, crush the biscuits and set to one side, you’ll be needing these later. A good way of doing this is by putting them into a plastic bag and hitting it softly with a rolling pin or in a grinder. Same with the nuts - you can either buy these pre-chopped, or chop them yourself or in an electric grinder
Melt the butter, honey and cocoa together in a pan, over a gentle hear - make sure it doesn’t burn! It has to be stirred occasionally and make sure you take it off once the butter has melted and then stir everything together
Add in the chopped nuts and crushed biscuits into this mixture and stir it all together, once this is done, you should have a mixture which will hold together well when you push it together with your hands
Get a cake tin and grease it well, with about half a teaspoon of butter. you don’t want anything sticking to the sides! Pour in the mixture and press it down firmly
Place this in the fridge to set. To take it out of the tin, here’s a handy hint - dip the base of the tin into hot water for a few seconds - not too long, you don’t want it melting! Tip it out onto a plate once it’s loosened slightly
Cut into strips, and it’s great served with ice cream!
